A catalog for everyone

World of Citrus makes information about citrus varieties publicly available. We provide and maintain the variety catalog, including its descriptions, sources, and editorial content. Members can add their own observations, photos, and comments to help others learn from their experience.

Member contributions do not directly create or edit catalog entries. We may consider observations and corrections when reviewing the catalog, but editorial decisions remain with World of Citrus. A published contribution is not an endorsement or confirmation of its accuracy.

Your account

Keep your account information accurate and your sign-in details secure. Do not impersonate another person or use another member's account. Contact us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Accounts are intended for people aged 13 or older, subject to any higher minimum age or parental permission required where you live.

Observations and comments

Share relevant, respectful contributions that are accurate to the best of your knowledge. Distinguish firsthand observations from information you have read elsewhere, credit sources, and include growing conditions or other context where useful.

Do not post harassment, spam, deceptive claims, unlawful material, or another person's private information. Do not interfere with the service or attempt to access accounts or information without authorization.

Only upload photos you own

You must own the copyright to each photo you submit and have the right to publish it. Owning the plant or having a copy of a photo does not, by itself, mean you own the photo. Do not upload images copied from websites, books, social media, or other people unless you have become the copyright owner.

You are responsible for any permissions needed for identifiable people or private information shown in your photos. Check the image, caption, and any embedded location information before submitting.

Contributions are public

Observations, photos, and comments added to the site are public contributions. They can be viewed by anyone, including people without an account, and may appear in search engines. Your member name and the details you include can appear alongside them.

Only submit material you are comfortable making public. Others may save or share public material, and copies outside our control may remain after a contribution is removed.

Your ownership and our permission to display

You retain ownership of your original photos, observations, and comments. By submitting them, you grant World of Citrus a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, format, and publicly display them as part of operating the site. This includes making thumbnails, resizing images, and using service providers to host and deliver the content.

This permission does not transfer ownership to World of Citrus. Public visibility does not put your photos in the public domain or give other people an unrestricted license to reuse them. Reuse must respect the owner's permission and applicable law.

If you want a contribution removed, contact us. The display permission ends when we remove it from the live site; limited copies may remain in backups or records for operational or legal reasons. Removal cannot recall copies already made by others.

Review and moderation

We may review, decline, hide, or remove contributions that breach these terms, infringe rights, expose private information, or undermine useful discussion. We may restrict or suspend accounts when necessary to address misuse. Submission does not guarantee publication or continued availability.

Using the catalog

The catalog and community contributions are provided for general information. Sources may disagree, knowledge may change, and performance can vary with climate, rootstock, care, and individual plants. Verify information before making growing or purchasing decisions. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, particular growing results, or uninterrupted availability.

Public access supports learning and sharing links. It does not override copyright in photos, authored text, or material from external sources. Linked websites have their own terms and privacy practices.

Privacy and revisions

Our Privacy policy explains the distinction between public contributions and account information. Material revisions to these terms will be identified on this page before they take effect, with additional notice where appropriate.
