Conducted long-term Florida field testing and development of US-852 leading to its release.
USDA-ARS released US-852 in August 1999 for commercial rootstock trials in Florida. Long-term testing showed highly productive, medium-sized trees, good fruit quality, low root-sprout production, and useful resistance or tolerance to several important citrus diseases.
Planned and conducted USDA field testing of US-942.
US-942 was field-tested at several locations and with several scions. The USDA release notice says field testing was planned and conducted by Don Hutchison, Heinz Wutscher, Greg McCollum and Kim Bowman, and identifies the field selection as HRS-942 or US-942.
