African Shaddock Pummelo

UCR identifies African pummelo at Riverside as CRC 2346 / PI 539369 / CPB 10210. The collection received the accession as CPB budwood in 1930. Its parents are unknown, and the page does not document the cultivar’s earlier origin.^⁠[1]

UCR’s “3/10/1954, WPB” note describes dwarf trees and round, very seedy fruit with a medium-thick to thick rind and white flesh with a slight pink tinge in the flesh and albedo; the note calls the flavor “insipid flat.” UCR lists the Riverside ripening season as October to November.^⁠[1]
