Selected
Alan Bishop selected the distinct tree now known as Bishop Citrandarin, described by The Mulberries as a seedling selection of US-852. Virginia Fruit Grower reports that the original plant was sold as US-852 but later distinguished by its double flowers and different fruit. The Mulberries subsequently found Bishop sweeter, more orange-flavored, and less herbal than US-852 in side-by-side tasting. The selection date and exact location are not established by these accounts.
