Notes
Stan McKenzie of McKenzie Farms in South Carolina received it as budwood from a guy in Germany. There is some trifoliate in the parentage as it has some trifoliate and bifoliate leaves. Stan said it survived an 8°F (-13°C) freeze with no problem.
"Does turn bright yellow (peel) when completely ripe, but the interior remains green. In mixed plantings, it can become pretty seedy, like the Clementine parent. Dr. John Brown developed numerous CiClems 50 or so years ago, and many of the 50-50 crosses had green flesh. My instinct tells me that CL was developed from one of Dr. Brown’s original crosses by back-crossing with Clementine. However, most of the original F1 hybrids were excessively bitter." - Tom McClendon
