First-hand breeder report. Post by kumin, 2024-09-06 10:05:50. The post explicitly names Mini Conestoga and reports a smaller tree with smaller leaves, flowers and fruit, abundant fruit, precocity over several years, about six years outdoors, and little fruit fuzz. A highly dwarfing rootstock trial is proposed; this does not establish that Mini reduces another scion’s vigor when used as rootstock.

First-hand breeder report. Post by kumin, 2025-07-27 10:46:31. The seedling row appears nucellar, possibly exclusively, from visual assessment; no genetic verification or counted rate is supplied. The post also describes precocity in seedlings and grafts and hardiness slightly below common Poncirus.

First-hand breeder report. Post by kumin, 2025-10-08 15:20:16. Mini was one of five different selections reported to have survived the preceding -8°F winter. The sampled Mini fruit was quite immature, with tart flesh described as not especially bitter; this stage-specific report does not erase earlier bitter-fruit observations.

The author reports that fruits from an early bloom were beginning to turn yellow. The same post says Mini-Conestoga seedlings are predominantly nucellar and germinate well, and suggests the selection might serve as a dwarfing rootstock. These are grower assessments, not genetic testing or a reported rootstock-performance trial; hardiness is described as close to but not equal to Poncirus.

The author reports grafting a Mini-Conestoga scion onto trifoliate orange rootstock. It flowered when about four inches long and did not immediately drop fruit; the author removed the fruit because the scion had so little growth. This is one specific graft and does not establish bearing age, mature fruit production, or rootstock performance.
