Croxton Grapefruit

Croxton Grapefruit is attributed to a grapefruit seedling raised from seed in Columbia, South Carolina, with seed and pollen parents unknown. A 2019 Tropical Fruit Forum account credits Dr. Robert Rodney Croxton. Stan McKenzie suspected Thompson Pink, but that identification is unverified.^{⁠[2]⁠[1]⁠[4]}

Growers describe Croxton Pink as a pink grapefruit with general grapefruit-like flavor. McKenzie reported more than 200 fruit on one six-year-old tree in 2012 and an October–November season. The 2011 video describes fruit as nearly seedless, but gives no count.^{⁠[1]⁠[2]⁠[4]}

Cold accounts are incomplete. TFF repeats an unverified 14°F survival claim and a UBC poster relays a separate report of survival at −10°C; neither identifies the exposed tree or event conditions. McKenzie's 14°F recollection was weather when he received a budstick, not a Croxton tree exposure. Gregn separately described an in-ground Croxton in North Vancouver with minimal protection but reported no freeze event or crop.^{⁠[1]⁠[2]⁠[3]}
