Bud sport of Foster Grapefruit
UCR reports Foster Seedless as a seedless, pink-fleshed bud mutation arising from Foster in Texas; it says the fruit resembles Thompson with somewhat better flesh color. A 2004 historical account separately describes a Foster Seedless tree bearing very dark-red fruit on post-freeze recovery growth in 1930; that fruit was named Hudson. Neither account gives a discovery date or discoverer for Foster Seedless.[1][2]
