UCR identifies CRC 3289 / PI 539166 as Willowleaf sour orange; its origin and parents are unknown. Collection notes describe extremely long, narrow leaves and small fruit with a thick, rough rind, yellow pulp, and few seeds. UCR reports February–April ripening at Riverside and a 2008 juice assessment of very acid and somewhat bitter. In The Citrus Industry, Volume 1 (1967), Hodgson describes the Willowleaf type as a compact ornamental sour orange and distinguishes it from Abers; UCR reproduces that account. IDtools records Granito (salicifolia) in historical name context. These names do not establish that all Abers and Willowleaf accessions are the same clone.[1][2]
