This varietyNatsudaidai Sour Orange
Hodgson (1967) reports that the original Natsudaidai seedling was said to have been found in a Yamaguchi garden toward the end of the 17th century. This is an attributed historical account; the identity of its parent plant or plants is not established. Hodgson’s pummelo-involvement statement is a morphology-based opinion, not a documented cross.
