Author article describing UF RedLime and UF SunLime. RedLime is reported as narrow-oblong with tapered ends, 4.2–4.8 inches and 28.8 g, averaging 4–14 seeds under field conditions; SunLime is compared as cylindrical, 2.7–3.1 inches and 30.4 g. Also reports high anthocyanins and high HLB tolerance. No fruit sample counts, assay method, or rootstock-specific context is given.

UF research summary, posted August 2025. Calls both releases improved finger-lime hybrid cultivars and describes RedLime as narrow-oblong with slight taper and 3.5–5-inch fruit; reports high anthocyanins under Central Florida conditions. The page’s HLB take-home statement is group-level, not cultivar-specific trial data. No named parent cross is given.

United States Plant Patent PP34,188 describing UF RedLime. Patent text reports selection from seed and pollen parents identified as Citrus australasica var. sanguinea, with parent selections unnamed; the source does not establish named varieties or percentage ancestry. It gives a separate five-year Carrizo-budded Lake Alfred fruit sample with measurements and quality readings. These patent observations are source-specific, not universal cultivar ranges.

Manjul Dutt presentation dated June 28, 2023; Scribd host page is titled “UF Sunlime: New Finger Lime Variety | PDF | Lime (Fruit) | Trees.” RedLime slides 16–17 give a distinct fruit-measurement snapshot (18.72–24.10 g, 2.91–3.92 inches, 16–23 seeds), six-year Lake Alfred tree/yield observations, and preliminary HLB wording. No sample counts, rootstock, or assay protocol is reported; measurements conflict with other UF descriptions.

Secondary report on a March 23, 2022 online symposium, with statements attributed to Manjul Dutt. Reports that UF RedLime and SunLime grew well in Central/South Florida on standard rootstocks; describes RedLime testing as zero HLB presence and SunLime testing as very small amounts. The report gives no tree count, age, rootstock per cultivar, assay, CLas threshold, or testing period.

Report on Manjul Dutt’s December 20, 2023 CREC OJ Break presentation. Attributes to Dutt the six-year Lake Alfred RedLime height (~6 ft), six-year yield (80–90 fruit), and preliminary high HLB tolerance/no bacterium detected. The source gives no assay, sample count, rootstock, or CLas threshold; program goal language about disease resistance is not trait evidence.

Summary from transcript: English captions cover 0:08–30:58 of the 31:12 presentation; captions are noisy automatic-style speech recognition and technical terms/numbers need caution. At 16:23–17:23 the presenter reports RedLime Lake Alfred block fruit at 18.72–24.10 g, 2.91–3.92 in, average 16–23 seeds, and notes larger fruit at Homestead. At 18:25–19:47 he describes upright/open canopy and preliminary HLB resistance/no bacterium detected in research plots; at 24:04–24:39 he reports annual multi-site testing, average SunLime Ct 31–33 across Lake Alfred, Immokalee and Homestead, no CLas bacterium detected in RedLime at those sites, and characterizes initial results as RedLime resistant/SunLime highly tolerant. No sample counts or assay protocol are given in captions. Do not infer pedigree from the garbled 16:28–16:37 passage.

UF/IFAS presentation dated October 2024 (cover shows “October 2024 23”). All 37 slides were visually reviewed. Slide 18 reports six-year RedLime habit/height/red flush/main February–March bloom and limited 80–100-fruit yield; slide 19 gives a separate fruit snapshot (18.72–24.10 g, 2.91–3.92 in, 0–23 seeds). Slides 29–32 report preliminary cold-response observations comparing both cultivars; the presenter describes SunLime as tolerating colder conditions better than RedLime. No minimum temperature or threshold is established, and the cold comparison is not assigned a site in the reviewed slides. Slide 20 shows RedLime on Poncirus trifoliata DPI-7 planted at Citra in May 2023 but gives no compatibility outcome.
