The USDA Agricultural Research Service released US-1284 Citrandarin to nurserymen and growers for commercial use in Florida to address the need for rootstocks with improved HLB tolerance. The official release identifies Kim D. Bowman as field-testing lead and Greg McCollum as collaborator in fruit-quality evaluation. In the St. Lucie flatwoods trial, Hamlin on US-1284 yielded 63 kg/tree in 2013 after Las infection and improved nutrition; the Water Conserv II ridge trial showed no consistent yield advantage over Swingle across reported years, with a significant difference only in 2009. These are site-specific grafted-scion results, not fruit traits of US-1284.
