US-802 originated from a cross of Siamese pummelo and Gotha Road trifoliate orange, believed to have been made around 1970. Available germplasm records do not securely identify the individual who made the original cross. The historical record identifies the pummelo parent simply as Siamese and does not establish that it was the separate Siamese Sweet or Siamese Acidless accession.
