Profile quotes group guidance attributed to an Albrecht et al. Florida 2024–25 rootstock guide: named rootstocks including US-812 produced good yields and lower-than-average fruit drop under high HLB pressure. Secondary group guidance only; no individual measurement, scion, trial setup, or disease-resistance rating. No verified byline or publication date.

The index lists US-812 parentage as Citrus reticulata ‘Sunki’ × Poncirus trifoliata ‘Benecke’ and its USDA release date as 2001. The table does not report selection, field performance, release contributors, or other historical events.

Bisi, Albrecht & Bowman 2020 seed and seedling study; exact US-812 fruit/seed and nursery rows, sample and methods are retained in the cited plant observation. Fruit is from rootstock seed trees; seedling percentages are this study’s nursery sample, not universal cultivar rates. Not scion fruit or taste data.

Primary graft study uses US-812 as comparator for the tested US-1283 source. Bearss lemon and Valencia sweet-orange grafts on US-812 formed normal unions in this single controlled greenhouse experiment; the same scions on the tested US-1283 source developed incompatibility symptoms. This is evidence for these two tested combinations, not universal compatibility.

Primary rootstock report: supports the May 2001 USDA-ARS release, Sunki × Benecke origin/testing names, and rootstock seed-tree fruit/seed description. Its Florida performance tables describe grafted scions; the Sunburst color value is scion juice color, not US-812 flesh color.

Table 1 identifies US-812 as IAC accession 1697 (Sunki × Benecke). Reported vigor, yield and juice-quality results are for Valencia sweet-orange scions on rootstocks in a four-replicate rainfed orchard trial at Rancho Alegre, Paraná; fruit chemistry is not US-812 rootstock fruit.

Figure 1/Methods distinguish Sunki × Benecke (IAC 1697) from Changsha × English Large (IAC 1711); Results §Yield maps IAC 1697 to US-812 and IAC 1711 to US-852. Trial performance and fruit quality concern Pera IAC sweet-orange scions on rootstocks at Bebedouro, Brazil, not US-812 fruit.

Albrecht & Bowman, Scientia Horticulturae 147:71–80; DOI 10.1016/j.scienta.2012.08.036. Experiment 2 tested 16-month-old rootstock-genotype seedlings under controlled greenhouse graft-inoculation (July 2010; 27 inoculated and 9 mock plants per genotype). Keep this distinct from Experiment 4, which tested US-812 as a scion micrografted on Volkamer lemon. Table 2–3 outcomes are experiment-specific, not field resistance guarantees.
