Whitney Marsh is UCR CRC3804 (PI539480; VI148), a named white-grapefruit accession. UCR reports unknown parents and says its budwood came from Whitney Ranch, Oasis, California, in 1961; the profile does not state where it was received.[1]
UCR's reproduced general Marsh description gives pale-to-light-yellow fruit with buff-colored flesh. A March 18, 1988 note says Whitney Marsh fruit was typical Marsh and appeared identical to CRC3128 and CRC3184 (Frost Marsh); this is a similarity observation, not proof that the accessions are interchangeable.[1]
UCR lists January–May as the ripening season at Riverside. Its reproduced general Marsh account describes a vigorous, spreading, large, productive tree with a high heat requirement that restricts commercial production to very hot climates. The profile says Whitney Marsh is not commercially available in California and has no approved California budsource.[1]
