Cross Made
J. Stewart Nagle’s 1993 account reports that William B. Chapman made a Nameiwa (Nagami × Meiwa) × Yuzu cross in the late 1960s. It says a proposed “Jejune Lemon” name was abandoned in favor of Yuzuquat at Hines Nursery in Houston. Nagle also reports that the original tree was later grafted onto trifoliate orange at Dr. Brown’s and remained there at the time of writing. The source does not specify the sexual cross direction, individual parent accessions, exact event date, or a propagation chain connecting later plants or fruit samples to that tree.
