Zygotic seedling of 5 Star Citrumelo
US 5 Star Citrumelo
The Mulberries distinguishes US five-star from Improved 5star and reports both as very precocious. This is a grower account of early flowering/fruiting, not a documented pedigree or trial.[1]
A 2022 GrowingFruit post by Kumin describes a plant labeled 5 Star Citrumelo fruiting three years from seed. In a 2024 tasting video, The Mulberries identifies a Pennsylvania-grown five-star sample supplied by Mel and recalls early fruiting. These accounts do not document the seed source or prove that the photographed/tasted plants are the same accession as this US selection.[2][3]
