ResearchGate-recovered abstract. A six-year South Texas high-pH, calcareous-soil field trial evaluated 10 rootstocks with Rio Red grapefruit scion. C-146 had lower cumulative fruit production than C-22 but excellent fruit production and annual yields similar to C-22 in four of six years (2001, 2003–2005). Abstract-only retrieval; no full methods, tables, or individual-tree data were reviewed.

Full-text article. Study-specific evidence concerns ‘Hamlin’ orange scions grafted on C-146 in two Florida field trials (Basinger and Lake Wales) established in 2015 and assessed during 2018–19 and 2019–20. Reported C-146 tree size, yield efficiency and Hamlin-fruit quality are rootstock effects in those trials, not C-146 own-fruit traits or universal performance ratings. The abstract identifies C-146 among diploid mandarin × trifoliate-orange hybrids.

Direct accession record inspected. NPGS receipt and provenance give 9 March 2018; virus-indexed budwood received at NCGRCD from the Citrus Clonal Protection Program. This is distinct from the earlier 2013 receipt at CCPP from the UCR Citrus Breeding Program.
