C-146 Citrandarin is listed at UCR as CRC 4256 (VI 872), a Sunki × Swingle trifoliate orange hybrid. [1] UCR lists Carrizo and Troyer citranges as rootstocks and records budwood receipt from CCPP via the UCR Breeding Program in 2013. [1]
Published studies evaluate C-146 as a rootstock rather than as a fruit cultivar. In a six-year South Texas trial with Rio Red grapefruit, C-146 had lower cumulative production than C-22 but similar annual yields in four of six years. [2] In two Florida Hamlin trials, C-146 was among the tallest tree groups, while its yield-efficiency group was among the lowest; these results are specific to the trial sites, years and scion. [3]
