Notes

A small-fruited, seedy mandarin-type citrus originating from southern China and long cultivated in Brazil and other parts of South America, where it has become especially important as a rootstock and breeding parent rather than a fresh-eating fruit. Sunki is considered part of the basic mandarin gene pool, closely related to other ancestral mandarins rather than to modern dessert cultivars.
