Citrus identification fact sheet combining key descriptors and historical citations. Its own description lists crown and fruit traits; additional historical notes quote Hodgson (1967); the references also include Swingle and Reece (1967). The page uses both Citrus reticulata and Citrus sunki taxonomic treatments. Traits and nomenclature are source-specific; it does not identify the UCR CRC 3143 accession.

Study of leaf essential oils from separately identified Sunki, Cleopatra, and hybrid accessions in the Embrapa germplasm bank; sampled 2011. Oil yield and chemical profile are leaf-specific, not fruit measurements. Abstract and full-text URLs are one DOI-backed paper.

Rain-fed field trial in northern São Paulo testing Sunki and Swingle citrumelo as rootstocks for late-season sweet-orange selections. Reported size and yield are grafted sweet-orange scion outcomes; they are not Sunki fruit measurements.

Nine-season subtropical trial of Emperor mandarin scions grafted on five rootstocks, including Sunki. Fruit juice content and HLB outcomes are reported for the grafted Emperor trees and tested site, not for Sunki fruit or all Sunki trees.

Seed-quality study of Sunki mandarin, Poncirus trifoliata, and five citrandarin rootstocks. Sunki fruit and seed measurements are from a rootstock clonal garden; seed-storage/germination findings describe propagation material, not eating quality.

Summary from transcript: Two short caption entries describe Sunki as a rootstock mandarin used in China and recommend harvesting while fruit is green or beginning to show orange; the presenter says fully orange peel coincides with reduced juice and flavor. The export contains only two entries at 0:10 and 0:42, with no sample, accession, or method details; retain these as the presenter's qualified observations, not validated harvest rules.

At printed p. 82 (PDF p. 88), Bitters summarizes Moreira et al. (1965), who placed Sunki Mandarin among the “good” rootstock drought-resistance group. The source describes nucellar Bara and Valencia Late orange, Dancy tangerine, and Eureka lemon scions budded on 77 tristeza-tolerant rootstocks under nonirrigated conditions in Brazil. It does not identify the accession or clone of any listed rootstock, provide a variety-specific sample count, or report a measured threshold.

Table 2, printed p. 28, reports counts for seedlings in Substation 15 plots inoculated in 1950: cotton-root-rot deaths in 1951 and 1952, and seedlings alive in September 1952. Counts are not percentages; the table gives no per-row denominator. The paper cautions that freeze injury, other diseases, and planting-date differences complicated comparisons.

Table 1, printed p. 83, reports adjusted and unadjusted cold-injury ratings and trunk circumference for named rootstocks under Valencia orange tops. The 10-year-old planting was at Weirsdale, Florida; injury followed winter 1957–58 freezes and ratings were made June 18, 1958. The study-specific ratings are comparative rootstock results, not traits of the rootstock variety as a scion or a temperature threshold.

The study examined seedling populations from open-pollinated rootstock fruits collected in Adana, Türkiye. Two hundred seeds per rootstock type were sown and 100 seedlings per population were analyzed by flow cytometry. The authors report diploid genome sizes for all assessed populations. The study measured ploidy/genome size, not embryo origin or clonal identity, and does not establish a zygotic-seedling percentage.
