Summary from transcript: Comparative tasting of Conestoga 006, 010 and 026, with a C-35-like seedling labelled 050 whose identity is uncertain. Reports fruit weight, seeds, peel, juice, zest, flavor, aroma, Brix and preliminary pH-strip estimates; accompanying scorecards provide final reported pH values. The Conestogas retain pronounced trifoliate characteristics and are discussed mainly for processed juice and jelly.

Genome resource reviewed against the CGD assembly record and existing variety identity. ZK8 is a sequenced trifoliate-orange reference relevant to C-35’s Poncirus parentage. It is not a sequence of C-35 Citrange or its recorded parental accession, and does not establish ancestry percentages or cold tolerance.

ResearchGate-recovered abstract. In a six-year South Texas high-pH, calcareous-soil field trial of 10 rootstocks with Rio Red grapefruit scion, C-35 citrange showed leaf chlorosis and decreased size, with most of the trees dying after a few years. Abstract-only retrieval; no full methods, tables, or individual-tree data were reviewed.

Profile includes the author's first-hand C-35 seedling and fruit-tasting remarks. It separately reproduces group guidance attributed to an Albrecht et al. Florida 2024–25 rootstock guide. No verified byline or publication date; do not treat the profile as the primary guide.

Individual scorecard image for C-35 Citrange. The printed preference ratings are sweetness 7/10, sourness 3.5/10 and bitterness 4/10; the linked fruit reference preserves these original ratings alongside catalog numeric scores. Sweetness is stored as printed; sourness and bitterness use 10 minus the printed score. Any Brix or pH printed on the card is a separate reading, not derived from ratings. Sample method and harvest date are not stated unless noted in the reference.

In the C-35 seedling-trial discussion, Kumin says the seeds were planted April 12, 2018, germinated in a heated bed, and field-transplanted in early June. The seedlings were 9–10 months old at the winter low. He distinguishes original soil-planted plants from potted Poncirus rootstocks and F2 backup Segentrange grafts. These setup and age details describe a seedling cohort and graft setup, not a measured trait of the C-35 parent clone.

HortScience 21(1):157–158 (February 1986). On p. 157, the authors describe C-35 and C-32 as F1 hybrids of Ruby orange (CRC 589) and trifoliate orange (CRC 2552), crossed in 1951 at the UC Citrus Research Center with R.C. Baines participating; the opening paragraph says they are being released for rootstock trial. The article does not assign individual breeder roles or a selection date. Keep the release wording limited to rootstock trial.

The study examined seedling populations from open-pollinated rootstock fruits collected in Adana, Türkiye. Two hundred seeds per rootstock type were sown and 100 seedlings per population were analyzed by flow cytometry. The authors report diploid genome sizes for all assessed populations. The study measured ploidy/genome size, not embryo origin or clonal identity, and does not establish a zygotic-seedling percentage.
