Dimicelli was documented among the named Clementine mandarin × Poncirus trifoliata siblings associated with plantings that survived the severe December 1989 Texas freeze. The hybrid group reportedly survived approximately 0°F (-18°C) at Franklin and 5°F (-15°C) at Houston and subsequently produced fruit. The surviving account does not identify a separate site-specific temperature measurement for Dimicelli alone.
