Forum post 46667 by hev retrospectively says seeds from Ichang papeda material were introduced to SRA San Giuliano in 1987; the separate budwood introduction was the source of SRA687. The account does not identify a known pollen parent for the seedlings or map the described seedling phenotypes to SRA240 versus SRA241.

Topic 388 includes `alias` post 1842, which reports an SRA 240 plant as white and prolific, and `clems` post 15641, which describes a bounded cold-exposure anecdote beside a wall; the wall reading was about −12 to −13 °C despite a −16 °C general reading, with one young shoot burned. These are grower reports, not a confirmed cultivar-wide hardiness threshold.
