Selections
Nishiura’s 1964 account lists Nagahashi among early-maturing Owari selections; his 1967 report describes the Owari limb sport as ripening early to middle November between Wase and common Satsuma, and distinguishes it from selected nucellar strains. Iwamasa’s 1988 diagram shows a single-line selection path from Owari. A 2016 marker study separately labels sample A123 “Nagahashi unshu NC” and reports no marker mismatches with representative Okitsu Wase A125; it does not establish that A123 is the historical limb sport or this catalog selection. A forum reproduction of a third-party maturity list classifies Nagahashi under Wase; it is not a grower observation.[1][2][3][4][5]
