Nameiwa Kumquat, also called Na-Meiwa, is a reported Nagami × Meiwa hybrid. J. Stewart Nagle’s 1993 article names it as a parent of Yuzuquat, which it describes as Nameiwa × Yuzu. The source does not establish Nameiwa’s originator, creation date or numbered selection identity.[3]
A 2008 forum post by Keith NC calls his plant “7* Kumquat,” also known as Nameiwa, and says it did well but was shy-bearing; it gives no tree age, rootstock, or cold-exposure details. A 2024 Tropical Fruit Forum thread repeats the Nagami × Meiwa cross as an uncited premise, while a respondent says they have never tasted Nameiwa.[1][2]
