Cross Made
Shiranui originated in 1972 in the Japanese national citrus breeding program at Kuchinotsu from a controlled cross of Kiyomi tangor as the seed parent and Nakano No. 3 Ponkan as the pollen parent. The cultivar was developed before Japan’s current plant-variety registration system and is not registered under that system.
