The index lists US-1281 parentage as Citrus reticulata ‘Cleopatra’ × Poncirus trifoliata ‘Gotha Road’ and its USDA release date as 2014. The table does not report selection, field performance, release contributors, or other historical events.

Primary USDA release document linked from the existing Citrus Rootstocks index. Identifies selection code BS95-V5-10/US-1281, the 1995 cross, and stated research and release roles; reports Hamlin scion trials at flatwoods and ridge sites. Trial yield and quality findings concern grafted Hamlin, not US-1281 fruit. The PDF date/signature lines are blank; no exact publication day is assigned.

Reports rootstock seed-tree fruit, seed, and seedling characteristics. The US-1281 sample was nine planted seeds in one replicate; eight seedlings were assessed with SSR, and no true-to-type seedlings were observed in that sample. This is a one-location, one-season nursery study; seed-tree fruit data are not grafted scion fruit. The same article was reprinted in the 2019 Florida State Horticultural Society proceedings and is one study.

Relevant post #8 by Kumin, 1 March 2024; his profile lists Pennsylvania 6b. He reports his US-1281 had not yet fruited as of that post and was grown in soil in a minimally heated tunnel. This participant report gives no US-1281 cold minimum or survival result; the 2°F survival report elsewhere in the thread concerns Bishop. Repeated quotations are not independent reports.

In reply #481386, kumin describes US-1281 foliage as rather Poncirus-like, says it shows no deciduousness, and reports no cold damage in the high-tunnel discussion. The post gives no temperature, plant age, rootstock setup, or geographic location.
