UCR describes its CRC 2367 accession (PI 539315, VI 486) as a home-garden sport of conventional Eureka selected by A.D. Shamel. Its profile records budwood from D.W. Field in Burbank in 1931, but gives no date or location for the original selection.[1]
UCR describes the fully mature CRC 2367 fruit as light pink-fleshed, low-seeded, and very acidic, with green-and-cream rind stripes fading to yellow around pink oil glands. Juice-color accounts differ: UCR’s dated 1986 accession note says pink juice, while Earl’s and Fruit Maven describe yellow or clear juice; the current UCR profile does not state juice color.[1][3][6]
At Riverside, UCR says the crop is distributed through the year but mainly ripens in late winter, spring, and early summer; the collection profile lists Yuma Ponderosa lemon as the rootstock. Home-tree reports are individual observations: Bock describes one early-picked fruit after a prior year of fruit abortion, while forum growers report differing fruiting experiences.[1][5][8][10]
