Frost Valencia is a nucellar seedling selection of Valencia made by H. B. Frost at the Citrus Research Center in Riverside about 1915; UCR and Hodgson report that it was released in 1952.[1][3]
Hodgson’s 1967 account described Frost Valencia as exceptionally vigorous and productive, the oldest of California’s nucellar budline selections, and then the most popular. A 1989 UCR collection note said it had lost popularity and was little used by then.[3][1]
