UCR records CRC 1851 as received as live trees from French Gilman in 1928. Its 1985 note says Dr. T. Tanaka planted and dedicated the tree during his 1928 visit and quotes a 1928 Swingle letter describing earlier transfers from Washington, D.C., to Indio and then Banning. These are accession-receipt and tree-provenance accounts, not the date or place of Kawano Wase’s original selection.
