UFR-18 (Orange 14) is a Florida citrus rootstock described in its published patent application as an allotetraploid zygotic hybrid formed by crossing two protoplast-fusion somatic hybrids: Nova mandarin hybrid with a Hirado Buntan pummelo seedling, and Cleopatra mandarin with Argentine trifoliate orange. The application reports selection after positive HLB responses in field trials and says four-year-old OLL-8 trees on Orange 14 performed well in one CRAFT planting under heavy Diaprepes/Phytophthora pressure; it also describes quick growth to medium tree size. The application cautions that replicated field-trial data are limited and reports differing site outcomes, so these findings are not a guarantee of performance across conditions.[2][3]
