UFR-2 is a University of Florida citrus rootstock. Its plant patent describes a tetraploid zygotic hybrid from a sexual cross between two somatic-fusion parents: Nova mandarin hybrid + Hirado Buntan pummelo, and Cleopatra mandarin + Argentine trifoliate orange.[3]
The UF/IFAS fifth-edition rootstock guide lists first commercial availability in 2015, intermediate tree size and 80–90% seedling uniformity. These are guide assessments drawn from Florida rootstock experience; tree performance depends on the grafted scion and growing conditions.[2]
